Despite Agatha Christie being most well known for her creation of Detective Hercules Poirot, her personal opinion of him was vocalised on one occasion when she called him ‘a detestable, bombastic, tiresome, egocentric, little creep’.

The fictional Belgian detective with the famous moustache, was Agatha Christie’s longest living character appearing in 33 novels and 50 short stories.

If you have ever watched Poirot at his best, you will enjoy his comical quotes……. one of my favourites being: “Your idea of a woman is someone who gets on a chair and shrieks if she sees a mouse. That’s all prehistoric.”
